Packaging Product Final

Well, I decided to make a package for a candy I am making for friends for Christmas, called Buckeyes. I used raindeer (Rudolf and his girlfriend) as the sides that the corners connected and candy stripes in pink, green, brown and white for the other sides. Then I added funny information at the bottom.

Packaging product

I scanned this pistachio box and considered doing this, but I decided for Xmas i am going to maake some candy presents. Paige cleared it so that I can do the chinese food box for my own candy creations presents and make it a product myself.

Packaging ideas

I like these fun packages like the purse and the ketchup characters. Make them seem like 3 dimensional little people or something. I have been playing with the chinese food package idea and doing something cool, but I dont know if that will go anywhere. Another idea is for some type of candy packaging or a Big Mac box/burger box......Another idea is the Unicef box. We got one last year and trick or treated for UNICEF and actually made like $22 for their cause. I remember the box they sent in the mail was kinda neat-o, but ugly.

Final Product

I scanned the soldiers/police men because I couldnt get a good picture of them. Tired to make the beak and eye yellow to emphasize the hawk eye part. Printed a pic, drew it, scanned, then drew more in photoshop, added gradient, a spray brush. Made the soldiers fight the hawk, with the band's name in the beak like he is eating it, or saying it. The starry night was just a happy surprise and added some stars. Felt like the type fit good for the event.

Hawkeye Pierce Inspirations

James said the origin of the band's name came for his own last name, the character Alan Alda played , Hawkeye Pierce from M*A*S*H (who got his name from the Last of the Mohicans in the show), and also represents a dying breed, anachronism in the modern world, ghosts of the past, the displaced. Standing your ground is a fundamental concept in country music. He also said he is not totally against me using a hawk's eye.

I was thinking of doing a less graphic version of a hawk eating something. Based on what James told me about the name origin, I want to incorporate the saying "STAND YOUR GROUND". I was thinking the Hawk could be eating a toy soldier and the other soldiers could be fighting the hawk. Like fighting chaos, that references the army character, the standing your ground, the hawk etc.

I was thinking I could use birds in some of my graphics/ type words. I also found some soldiers that spell letters. But I also want to put the band's name in the Hawk's eye. It might be a black and white sketch.

I really like this hawk image, might sketch it for the background of the poster.

I like this one, its kinda cartoon-y, but I think I am going in another direction now.
